The clients for this project purchased an aging mid-20th century summer cottage in walking distance to a nearby beach. They wanted to build a new, cozy four-season get-a-way in the footprint of the original. The new cottage was to have a welcome ambiance, with an open main level plan, a study to double as a grandmother's guest room, two additional guest rooms for close family and friends, porches for summer evening socializing and a fireplace for the cooler seasons.
